BRENDA is a comprehensive and easy to use collection of biological information relating to enzymes. The CAZY database describes the families of structurally-related catalytic and carbohydrate-binding modules (or functional domains) of enzymes that degrade, modify, or create glycosidic bonds. This incredibly easy to use and comprehensive resource is renowned throughout the carbohydrate scientific community. The EBI is a centre for research and services in bioinformatics. The Institute manages databases of biological data including nucleic acid, protein sequences and macromolecular structures. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi ENTREZ, developed by NCBI, is an easy to use text-based search and retrieval system for biological literature, nucleotide and protein sequences, protein structures, complete genomes, taxonomy, and many others. ENZYME is a user friendly database that describes each type of characterized enzyme for which an EC (Enzyme Commission) number has been provided. The information is based on the recommendations of the Nomenclature Committee of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB). Many other useful resources can be found on the ExPASy Proteomics Server at http://www.expasy.org/. |

| Scientific Associations AACC International, formerly the American Association of Cereal Chemists, is a professional organization of members who specialize in grain research and the use of grains in foods. AACC International is the one truly global organization focused on the advancement of grain science. Industry, academia, and government institutions rely on AACC International to identify emerging issues, report industry news, investigate and develop analytical methodology, and make this information readily available. AOAC INTERNATIONAL is a 120 year-old not-for-profit scientific association committed to worldwide confidence in analytical results. In fact, “worldwide confidence in analytical results” is AOAC’s vision. The AWRI’s mission is to advance the competitive edge of the Australian wine industry through the delivery of world class research, development, extension and service activities, with a vision of becoming the world's premier wine research institute. The International Association for Cereal Science and Technology contributes to the advancement of cereal science and technology in all its aspects, by standardising test methods in cereal science and technology (as well as in related fields), and applying the results of scientific and technological research to the more efficient utilization of cereals. The Royal Australian Chemical Institute Incorporated [RACI Inc] is both the qualifying body in Australia for professional chemists and a learned society promoting the science and practice of chemistry in all its branches. |
