Unit definition:
One Unit of D-malate dehydrogenase activity is defined as the amount of enzyme required to convert one µmole of D-malic acid to pyruvate and CO2 per min in the presence of NAD+ in Tris.HCl buffer (74 mM), pH 8.0 at 25oC.
