Unit definition:
One Unit of gluconate kinase is defined as the amount of enzyme required to convert one μmole of D-gluconic acid to D-gluconate 6-phosphate + NADPH per minute in the presence of NADP+ in glycylglycine buffer (86 mM), pH 8.0 at 25oC.
