EC 1.1.1.27
CAS: 9001-60-9

Synonyms:
L-lactate dehydrogenase; (S)-lactate:NAD+ oxidoreductase

Form:
In 3.2 M ammonium sulphate.

Stability:
> 2 years at 4oC.

Specific activity:
~ 330 U/mg (37oC, pH 7.0 on pyruvic acid).

Unit definition:
One Unit of L-lactate dehydrogenase activity is defined as the amount of enzyme required to produce one μmole of NAD+ from NADH in the presence of pyruvic acid (0.8mM) in sodium phosphate buffer (100mM), pH 7.0 at 37oC.

Specificity:
Catalyses the reaction:
L-Lactate + NAD+ = pyruvate + NADH + H+

Applications:
Applications for the measurement of L-lactic acid in the food, fermentation, wine, beverage and dairy industries.
