Unit definition:
One Unit of acid phosphatase is defined as the amount of enzyme required to release one μmole of p-nitrophenol per minute from 4-nitrophenyl phosphate (4 mM) in sodium acetate buffer (20 mM), pH 5.0 at 40oC.
